Debian 8, code name Jessie, is a Linux Distribution in it's own right. The Raspberry Pi uses an ARM compiled version called Raspbian (Wheezy, Jessie etc) and this is not what is covered here, this is the x86_AMD version. I don't use it much so don't expect many entries in this section.
